Shares of Valmie Resources, Inc. (OTCMKTS:VMRI) Advance Following Announcement of Vertitek’s Drone Racing Team

Valmie Resources, Inc. (OTCMKTS:VMRI) announced that its subsidiary, Vertitek, has expanded its drone racing team by adding a third racing pilot and establishing an FPV  freestyle crew.

Valmie Resources Inc. (VMRI) announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, Vertitek, has expanded its drone racing team in order to compete on a broader scale. The team has added a third racing pilot and established an FPV (First Person View) two-member freestyle crew.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Vertitek’s new racing pilot is a member of the MultiGP Racing League for FPV radio-controlled aircraft. He recently competed in the 2016 MultiGP National Championship held at the Academy of Model Aeronautics headquarters in Muncie, Indiana, and is ranked among the top 50 fastest pilots in the country.

“On behalf of Valmie and Vertitek, we extend a warm welcome to our three new highly skilled pilots,” said Gerald B. Hammack, President and CEO of Valmie. “FPV drone racing and freestyle are two of the fastest growing sports in the world. Pilots who have been competing since the establishment of these sports will become legends. Valmie is enthusiastic about being associated with these trailblazers.”

Vertitek’s recently established division, Vertitek Racing, specializes in fabricating and selling racing frames for the competitive drone racing industry. Vertitek Racing’s existing product, Model LDE 180, is extremely light and durable and has proven to be popular among drone racers. Additional products are in the works and will soon be announced.

As a result of that successful venture, Vertitek Racing launched its team of sponsored pilots that promote the company brand on YouTube and attend racing events as the company’s branded team. One of the Vertitek team members participated in the U.S. Drone Nationals last month, the first-ever such event to be nationally televised live on ESPN.

“Many drone racing events have freestyle competitions,” said Sean Foster, President of Vertitek. “Vertitek’s new freestyle component will allow the team to compete on a broader level and establish Vertitek Racing as a serious player in this exciting new field.”

Different from drone racing that requires the contenders to get to the finish line the fastest, freestyle competition involves flips, tricks, and aesthetics. Many freestyle pilots think of it as art or a form of expression and typically come from a musical, photography or extreme sports background.

FPV or First Person View means pilots wear special goggles that let them see exactly what the drone “sees.” A camera is placed on top of the drone that transmits a signal to the pilot’s goggles, giving them a unique “flight-like” vantage point.

The mathematical calculation that represents the degree of change over time is known as “percentage change”.   In finance, it serves many purposes, and is often used to represent the price change of a commodity.

Percentage change can be applied to any quantity that is measured over time any given time period.  Say you are tracking the price of a stock.  If the price increased, the formula [(New Price – Old Price)/Old Price] is applied and then take that number and multiply it by 100.  If the price of a stock decreased, the formula [(Old Price – New Price)/Old Price] is applied then multiplied by 100.

The formula can be used to track the prices of both individual commodities and large market listings, and also used to compare the values of different currencies.  Balance sheets with comparative financial statements often will include prices of specific stocks at different time periods alongside the percentage change over the same periods of time.  Over the past three months, Valmie Resources, Inc. (OTCMKTS:VMRI) has seen 398700 shares trade hands on average.

Companies are ranked according to their market caps, falling into large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap categories.

Large-cap companies have a market cap north of $10 billion.  These large companies have usually been in business for a long time, and are major participants in well-established sectors.  Investors in large-cap companies don’t necessarily bank large returns in short time periods, though are rewarded with a constant increase in share value over the long run.

Mid-cap companies have a market cap of $2 billion – $10 billion.  Mid-cap companies are usually established companies operating in an industry that is expected to experience quick growth.  Mid-cap companies are usually in the middle of expansion.  They carry higher risk than large-cap companies due to the fact that they are not as established, though their growth potential remains an attraction to investors.

Small-cap companies have a market cap of $300 million – $2 billion.  These smaller companies are usually newer or perhaps service a niche market or a new industry.  Generally considered to be a higher risk than mid or large-cap in part because of their age, their size and the markets they serve.  Small-cap companies usually have fewer resources and are more sensitive to the ebb-and-flow of markets.  Valmie Resources, Inc. (OTCMKTS:VMRI)’s market cap currently sits at $70270000.
